Child model agency, Child models , Teenage models

The media explosion has brought about an unprecedented advertising boom. This has seen the increase in demand for models belonging to all age groups. This demand has been seen not just in the advertising field. The growth of the film and television industries has seen an increase in the demand for child models and actors. Child model agencies have sprouted all over the globe trying to capitalize on this sudden increase in demand. Almost all leading modeling agencies handle child models as well. But some exclusive child model agencies have also come into existence in recent times.

When we talk about child models, names like Brooke shields, Macaulay Caulkin and Lindsay Lohan come to mind. They are all stars who saw success as child models and later on went on to become superstars. Brooke Shields was promoted by one of the top modeling agencies in the world, the Ford agency.

There is a great demand for teenage models too. Many of the child models later on became extremely successful teenage models. Teenage models are in demand considering the number of products that flood the market and which are exclusively aimed at a teenage audience and consumer.

Psychologists have also pointed out the fact that advertisers sometimes use child and teenage models for any and every product considering the influence children have on their parents in the decision making process.

All the above factors show why child model agencies are doing great business. The downside is that the child models have little say in professional matters. The parents and agencies overwork them and emotionally drain them by trying to make the maximum money while their popularity lasts. This has resulted in the child models being emotionally and physically scarred for life.

The same is the case with Teenage models. The sudden fame and money that they enjoy can result in a false sense of security. The day they move out of the limelight is the beginning of the most traumatic period of their life. They are not able to reconcile to the fact that they are no longer famous or wanted. The absence of proper counseling and care can result in an extremely troubled adult life.

The fact of the matter is that child models and teenage models are a privileged lot. They just have to be given the proper counseling and guidance. Some of the better run agencies are trying to look into this matter so that the children get to reap the benefits of their profession without having to go through the trauma of premature adulthood.
